About:Visa on Arrival

Travel to Guangzhou

Hi, I have some urgent business in Guangzhou.
Is it possible to travel to Guangzhou after obtaining VOA Shenzhen in the Shenzhen airport?
If not, is there any other way to enter Guangzhou without applying for visa beforehand?

Ivonny, this is not possible because of several reasons:

- Currently Indonesian citizens are not granted a Shenzhen VOA
- Currently Shenzhen airport is not granting VOA to anyone
- Those who obtain a Shenzhen VOA are limited to just Shenzhen city limits and they are not allowed to travel to Guangzhou
- There is a way how to travel to Guangzhou by using 144 hour visa free transit, but Indonesian citizens are not eligible for this scheme.

I'm sorry to conclude that your only way how to reach Guangzhou is by obtaining a Chinese visa in advance.
