Traveling from another country

I am an American, living in the US. Can you confirm, if I am traveling to another country prior to visiting China, do I need to add my complete iteniary from that trip, or just show entry and exits from China?

Additionally, how long after I apply for my visa to I have to wait for an invitation for an interview if applying from Washington, DC

Generally, you only need to show your entry and exits from China.

It depends on your appointed time and the appointment status and numbers of that day.
