About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Visa needed for Hong Kong-Shenzhen-Hong Kong?

I am a Singaporean planning to visit Hong Kong for a 5 days trip and plan to visit Shenzhen for a day trip and then go back to Hong Kong. Do I need visa to go to Shenzhen? If yes, should I apply from China embassy in Singapore or in Hong Kong ? Is COVID testing required?

If you intend to visit Shenzhen only, by far the best option in that case is to obtain a Shenzhen 5 days visa on arrival. You can obtain it on several border crossings between Hong Kong and Shenzhen, but in my opinion by far the most convenient option is to take a direct morning ferry from Hong Kong to Shekou port in Shenzhen and to obtain this visa there. You should just have in mind the opening hours of Shekou visa office: 9:00 - 13:00 & 14:30 - 16:30.

By the way, after your stay in Shenzhen, you can return to Hong Kong by taking any border crossing or any mean of transport, high speed train included.
