hk to gz, gz to usa via hk (connected flight gz-hk-usa)

Question

Good day. Will this route be eligible for 144-hour visa-free transit? Arriving from HK I am flying out to a third country (USA, not HK) but via HK (using Cathay Pacific). Will it be considered as third country exit or it will be considered as HK-GZ-HK not paying attention to where I fly after HK?
