Canadian travel to shenzhen

I am planning to visit my friend in shenzhen for 3 days this month as Canadian passport holder. I am planning to go to Hong Kong then take ferry to Fuyong to get VOA and vistit then take the ferry back to hong kong airport and come back to Vancouver after my 3 day visit.
It says the the Fuyong port VOA office will be open until the last ferry time (will take the 20:00 from Hong kong airport) but wanted to double check if the office will be open when I arrive around 21:00 at Fuyong port to get my VOA.

Also, I noticed that I need the antigen test within 48hours and complete the health declaration form. I noticed a ticket and seat # for the ferry coming back is needed for the health declaration form but I was wonsering if I can purxhase the ticket on the day instead.

Yes, you are allowed to proceed with your plan as you have presented it. In reality, this is by far the easiest option because you will reach Shenzhen in the most direct way from Hong Kong area. You should just take care about the formalities at Hong Kong airport in order not to cross the border control there because if you do that, you will not be able to catch a ferry from Skypier to Shenzhen.

Also, you will have to perform DIY test and bring a photo of it, along with health declaration form. In the end, you can book your ferry without any problem and insert some random seats. This is more a remnant from the time of strict covid related controls. Anyway, you can buy your ferry ticket perfectly on the day if that makes you more relaxed.

Some say that Fuyong is not giving VOA and that I should wait at hong kong airport overnight to use shekou the next morning...
Is this true?

I am going to bring the test itself with date and time labeled but is just a picture all that is needed?

I cannot guarantee this detail because the entire infrastructure is still in its reset, so it might be possible that Fuyong is not granting visas, although I am quite positive that this is not the case. If you feel insecure, have an overnight and after that take a ferry to Shekou.
