Applying for a China 'L' visa from India (third country)

Hello, I am from NZ. I am planning an extended travel trip and would like to visit China during my time in Asia. However, I have contacted my embassy and they have told me that I won't be able to get my China visa here in NZ before I leave, because my leaving date is more than 3 months before my proposed time of entry into China.

This means I will have to apply for a visa from India. Will this be more difficult? I have my India tourist visa. Also I understand I will need to make a booking to come and give my documents and fingerprints etc. Where do I need to go in India to do this?

Thank you very much

It's really difficult for you to get the visa in India when you are just a tourist there. If you insisit, you need to lodge the submission to one of the China Visa Application Service Centers there.

Maybe you can try to apply the visa in your own country and ask for a validity period of 6 months.
