About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

Do I have to leave my passport at the embassy?

I am writing to inquire about the procedure for passport submission and visa collection at the embassy. I am currently residing in Perth, Australia. I have upcoming travel plans and would like to know if it is necessary to leave my passport at the embassy when submitting my visa application. Alternatively, would it be possible to bring my passport during the appointment for visa collection? The reason for my query is that I require my passport for travel purposes.

Specifically, I intend to submit my visa application before traveling to Bali and then collect the visa after I return from Bali. I understand that there is a time constraint, as I will only have a two-week window for visa collection upon my return.

I would greatly appreciate your guidance on this matter. If there are any specific instructions or alternative arrangements to accommodate my travel plans, I kindly request you to provide the necessary information.

Thank you for your attention to this inquiry. I look forward to your prompt response.

Yes, you have to leave your passport at the embassy or the visa application service center. However, it won't take too much time. Generally, it only takes about 4 working days after you submit all the required documents. If you use express service, only 2-3 days are needed.
