Fahad,

There are no issues at all since your total transit time in China is less than 24 hours. In other words you are eligible for 24 hour visa free transit since your entire transit time within mainland China will be less than 24 hours. So, you do not need any kind of visa.

Upon your arrival at Guangzhou airport, you will approach 24 hour visa free transit desk where you will apply for a temporary entry permit for free. This is a permit and not a visa, usually issued to those passengers who have long layovers like yours. You have to be aware that the issuing of temporary entry permit depends on sole discretion of airport officials and is not a right of a passenger traveling on 24 hour visa free transit. Hopefully, those responsible will be reasonable and grant you the permit to allow you to explore the city or even to have a rest in the hotel if your layover is during the night hours.

By the way, Pakistani citizens are eligible just for 24 and for 144 hour visa free transit.
