Singaporean TO HKG and Fo Shan

Hi, I am a Singaporean and plan to visit Hong Kong and Fo Shan in May. From your responses, it looks like I should go to Lo Wu and get a VOA which is valid for 5 days. Can I use this VOA to go to Fo Shan? Also, what documents are needed for VOA?

Thank you!

No, unfortunately, you cannot visit Foshan with Shenzhen 5 days visa. Shenzhen visa is strictly limited to the administrative boundaries of Shenzhen city, roughly limited by Hong Kong in the south, Dongguan in the north, Huizhou in the east and Pearl River in the west. All that you need is your passport, if you have accommodation booking confirmation is a good addition and PCR/antigen test not older than 48 hours. There are some reports that, if entering from Hong Kong, that a test is not required, but I cannot confirm this detail with certainty.

If you intend to travel to Foshan, I would suggest you to do the following:
- Take a flight from Hong Kong to Guangzhou because the flying is the only eligible way
- Book a ferry (catamaran) from Shekou port in Shenzhen to Macau through TurboJet website. Print out this ticket and have that printout with you
- Like this you create a transit scheme Hong Kong - Guangzhou (mainland China) - Macau and you become eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in the entire Guangdong province
- Please, keep in mind that you will have to take exactly that ferry that you have bought your ticket for.
- Like this, you will enjoy your stay totally visa free in entire Guangdong province.
