About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour transit visa

Hi there,
Do you know if i meet the 'third country' requirement if i was to fly taipei - shanghai - taipei (and then to bali) all within 144 hours? Some websites have used the wording "onward travel to a third country within 144 hours". I would have already landed in Indonesia within 144 hours, only that i transit again in taipei.

Thanks

The only detail that is important in understanding of this scheme is that immediate points before and after a mainland Chinese destination are in two different, eligible geographical entities. In other words, you simply have to have A - B - C entities where mainland China is a B entity. In your case, you have A - B - A situation and this fact disqualifies your itinerary. In other words, your itinerary is just a return trip in this regard.

So, just the immediate points before and after matter.
