About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Visiting Shenzhen and Ningbo from Hong-Kong

We are visiting some fairs in hong-kong next week, but due to limited capacity at the local consul we don't have a visa yet.

I now have the following in mind.
Visit Shenzhen on a 5-day visa on arrival

Visit Ningbo on the 144h transit visa
Hong-Kong - Direct Flight to Ningbo - few days in Ningbo - Direct flight to Macau
(ferry from Macau to Hong-kong to catch our return flight)

You think this will work?

I am so thrilled when I see the people are doing their homework as they should :)

Yes, you are definitely correct on every single detail of your plan. Anyway, just to recapitulate them:

- For your first segment, i.e. a visit to Shenzhen I advise you to use Luhou border crossing and have in mind that the visa office closes at 16:30. So, be there well before that time. You can return back to Hong Kong using any crossing and any mean of transport that you choose.
- Your itinerary Hong Kong - Ningbo - Macau is perfectly eligible for 144 hours visa free transit. Beside Ningbo, you can also use Shanghai if you want so... Every airport in the wider Shanghai area is eligible. This will be entirely up to you.

So, when you land in Macau you can go to Hong Kong by ferry, by bus or by any other mean of transport. In any case, you are perfectly eligible for your entire plan :)
