About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit
HK to Shanghai to HK
Can I travel from HK to Shanghai and then back to HK visa free? UK passport.

ReplyNo, you cannot since this is not a transit. To be able to use this facility, you are advised to do something like this:
Hong Kong - Shanghai - Macau and after that return back to Hong Kong
If you do something as I have written, you will be allowed to use 144 hours visa free transit in wider Shanghai area.00Reply
