About:China Visa Exemption

What type visa needed for Shanghai for 3 days, then YIWU for 11 days from New Orleans, LA?

I do not have the exact days, yet, but travel plans are being made for either within March 30-April 19 OR April 24-May 25. I prefer the April-May dates. What type of visa do I need? Do I have to physically go to a Chinese Consulate so far from New Orleans, or may I handle this online? I am a tourist, and see that Tourist (L) visa applications are suspended.

Yes, tourist visa is still suspended. If coming to China for sightseeing, you need to wait for some time. When available, you need to go to a Chinese consulate in person for the application. An appoinment is needed before going.
