Visa Extension

Hello, My name is Kate. I have a Z visa (000). It expires on January 19, 2023. I will arrive in China on January 1, 2023 6:00 am China time. The arrival city is Shanghai. I will work and live in Suzhou.
What date does my work permit application and resident permit application need to be submitted to the Exit & Entry Administration Department of Public Security Bureau (PSB)?
What date does my work permit and residence permit need to be approved?
Will the Chinese holiday and quarantine regulations affect the deadline?
Can you advise me on visa extensions?

Many thanks.
Kate

Hi Kate,
As soon as you can (after arrival), book your physical examination with the International Travel Healthcare Center in your city. Where we live, appointments are made online by scanning their WeChat account. You will have to wait for an appointment time (this can be up to two weeks!). Bring all original health check documents from your home country, as they will often accept these as evidence, and it will save you a lot of money. After the examination, it takes about a week to get the certificate. Once you have received the Health Certificate, you can take it (with other documentation), to apply for your resident permit.
