About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hours Transit Visa

I am UK citizen . I will arrive into Shanghai from Japan and will take my next flight from Beijing to Bangkok.
Can I take 144 hours transit visa on arrival at Shanghai and also travel to Beijing ?
