About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Im changing cities and want to apply for temporary residency visa

I am a teacher changing jobs from Beijing to Haikou Hainan. My visa expires on the 30th June and my work permit. When should i get a clearance letter and cancel my work permit and residency visa to apply for the temporary visa.

At least 5 days before the current one goes expire. BTW, why don't you directly renew the current visa instead of cancel it and apply for a new one?
