What documents do I need to apply for a Chinese visa as a tourist with American Passport ?

I have a girlfriend..Chinese who wants me to visit her in China.What does she have to send me for me to apply for Chinese visa ?

Edward, she should send you an invitation letter, her Chinese ID number and a photocopy of her ID card. However, be aware that even she send you all these documents, you cannot apply for a visa currently because of the epidemic.

Barely three years ago, I got a 10year Chinese visa in my AMERICAN PASSPORT. Unfortunately, I lost my passport and It was canceled after reporting it at the American Embassy. But it was later found after a new passport had been issued to me.Do I need to apply for a new visa and pay another visa fee or the Chinese Embassy can issue me another visa in my new passport? Please I need your clarification regarding this issue or matter. Thanks for your insight.
