Is it possible to apply for a Q1 visa from within China?

In other words to transfer from a working visa to a Q1 visa, and I'm under the impression that it's not possible to work on the Q1 visa. Is that correct?

Lewis, you can transfer from a working visa to a Q1 visa if you have Chinese members there, and you are right, it's not possible to work on the Q1 visa.
