About:China Work Visa

Is an extra visa needed to visit Hainan?

My friends and I have been living in China since December last year, and are wanting to visit Hainan (specifically Haikou and Sanya) during our August vacation. Do we need to make any changes/apply for an extra visa to visit the island, or are our pre-existing Chinese work visas okay to travel there? Thanks!

Ana, your visas are okay to travel there if you are not from the middle and high risk areas, and you need to get an electronic health code beforehand.

Thank you for the reply! We have our green health codes specific to our city, and were told that the QR codes for other cities would likely be posted at the gate for each flight we take to get to places - do you know if this is true at all? And if not, do you think they would be easy enough to find and enter details in for, as the one for our city would not allow us to apply for the regular Chinese one, and we had to wait for a specific English/foreigner version to be made.
