About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Transferring Schools in China

My current school is willing to provide the work permit cancellation letter at the end of my contract. The problem is that my contract expires on the same day as my residence permit. My new school says they would not have time to apply for a new work permit and a new residence permit. I have asked if my current school is willing to give me my work permit early but they say it is against policy.

what can I do in this situation?

James, you need to negociate with your current school to see if you can quit the job before your contract ends. If yes, then you may have enough time to do the new work permit and residence permit.
