About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I plan to get my daughter back to Germany without having a visa

I am from Germany and my 2 years old daughter and her Mom are holders of British Pass Documents.
I plan to fly to Guangzhou (Baiyun) in a few days (likely Tuesday), then leave the arrival area at the airport to meet with my partner and daughter at the entrance of the airport and then fly back to Germany together with them. We will not take direct flights, but flights with different arrival and destination, for example Germany -> Russia -> China -> Japan -> Germany.

The reason she doesn't fly herself is, that I will bring full body protection gear to protect against the Corona virus from Germany, that we plan to wear at the airport and during the flight in order to protect us from the virus.

Can I use the transit 72 regulation for this purpose? What about registration at the local police station. Do I need to book a hotel in order that they do the registration for me, or do I not need a registration at police station at all?

If you fly Country A - China - Country B then you're fine to use the twov (either 24h or 144h, 72h doesn't exist in Guangdong anymore).

If you stay less than 24 hours in Guangzhou, you don't need to register at the police.
