Taking a cruise departing from Shanghai / Visa question

We are taking a cruise departing from Shanghai. We are arriving by plane in Shanghai 2 days prior to the ship departure. Do we need a Visa for 2 days?
Later on, the ship arrives in Tianjin and stays there for 3 days. Do we need a Visa for those 3 days?
Thank you in advance for your response.

If cruise goes to Tianjin prior to visiting a port in a third country then a tourist visa is required in advance of travel.
