About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72 or 144 hour visa

Hello, I had a 3 day trip planned in Shanghai. Arriving from Bangkok at 8am on Feb. 25th and to Seattle at noon on Feb. 28th. I saw that this fit within the 72 hour period. NOW I have been informed that my flight is cancelled and I was rebooked Shanghai to Beijing for a 3 hour lay over before I depart to Seattle the next day Feb 29th. Do I qualify under the 144 hour visa or do I now have a problem?

Contact the airline and request to be re-booked on a different flight that is non-stop. The new flights are not compatible with visa free transit.
