is the 72-hour transit visa in guangzhou also valid when coming from taiwan?

I want to fly from Moscow to Taipei, from Taipei to Guangzhou and from Guangzhou back to Moscow. Is the 72-hour Transit Visa applicable in that case?

Yes it is. By the way, it is 144 hour visa free transit since Guangdong province where Guangzhou is located has replaced 72 hour visa free transit with 144 hour visa free transit in May of the last year. Also, it is not a transit visa, but visa free transit. There is no visa at all. Also, Taiwan is fine for this visa free transit option because it is considered as a third country for visa free transit purposes.
