About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Parents letter of consent for child to travel alone

My son (age 12) is travelling to China with a school friend and his family, we will not be travelling with him.
I believe he will need a parental letter of consent for his visa - is there a certain format/template for what this letter should be?

As far as I know, there is no certain format for this invitation letter. The important part is the signatures of parents.
