Cruise stopover in Tianjin for Beijing (China)

We are cruising from Sydney to Singapore with Australian passports with a stop in Papua New Guinea then Japan and after 2 more days at sea arrive in the port of Tanjin for 16 hours. We then cruise at sea for another 2 days before arriving in South Korea and then several other countries before arriving in Singapore. This will be our only stopover in China and we are getting conflicting reports as to whether we need to get a single entry visa or not.

It is on CMV but our leg is Sydney to Singapore. There has been a change in the itinerary with Shanghai being replaced with a visit to Jeju in South Korea, leaving just the one stop in China at Tianjing.

Thank you for your help Zudan.
When I contacted CBIT Visas today and told them what information I now had and that also Visa Central had told me that I didn't require a visa they said that their information as at yesterday was that the free visa only applied if we cruised in to 1 port and then flew out from China. Quite confusing.

Japan > Tianjin > Korea portion is allowed 144 hour visa free transit

Stan, is your cruise 44 night "Auckland To Singapore" provided by Cruise & Maritime Voyages?

If so, you should recheck your cruise itinerary because this cruise stops in Japan, after that cruises to Tianjin, but after Tianjin it does not cruise to South Korea, but to Shanghai. Please, just double check the itinerary.
