About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hour rule: Hong Kong - Guangzhou - Europe

I read "trains to / from Hanoi and Hong Kong are eligible."

Will they stamp this 144 hours in my passport in Hong Kong Hung Hom Station on departure to Guangzhou if I have a valid flight ticket within 144 hours from Guangzhou to Europe?

Regards
Nick

No. Transit without visa in Guangdong is only available when you arrive by air. You must either fly to Guangzhou or get a visa.

The only way to be eligible for any kind of visa free transit in Guangdong province (Guangzhou included) is to travel there by air. So, your option is to take a plane from Hong Kong to Guangzhou.

Also, a train from Hanoi is not eligible for any visa free transit scheme. You have, obviously, found very unreliable source :(

Well, please accept my sincere apologies because this must have to be a brand new entry into visa free transit policy! I honestly didn't know about it and also it was definitely ineligible just a few months ago.

Anyway, you will allow me to check this detail because it may be an unintentional, although heavily misleading disinformation. Also, I still don't suggest to anybody to rely on this information at the time being.
