Is a Visa required for staying 4 - 5 days visiting Hong Kong and Macau?

We will disembark off the cruise in Hong Kong. We want to stay in Hong Kong to tour Canton and Macau before we fly home to Los Angeles. Will we need a visa for staying 4 - 5 days?

If your itinerary is Hong Kong-Guangzhou-Macau, and you will be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit provided you FLY to Guangzhou.
