Mike, there is no such a thing as a single entry tourist Shenzhen visa. There are:
- Single entry tourist (L) visa
- Shenzhen visa on arrival
So, if you have obtained a single entry tourist (L) visa at your home country, you are free to travel not only to Shenzhen, but throughout the entire mainland China, including Guangzhou.
To explain further... If you have a valid tourist (L) visa, you can take a flight to Shenzhen and after that normally proceed to any other part of China because this visa is valid for entire country. Of course, you will not cross to Hong Kong after you have reached Shenzhen, but you will just proceed from Shenzhen to other mainland Chinese destinations of your choice. Shenzhen is also part of mainland China in the same way as it is Beijing or Shanghai.
In reality, you will not need any kind of additional visa for your planned travel to Shenzhen and Guangzhou or maybe to other mainland Chinese destinations of your choice. I assume that you will return back home also by flight from Shenzhen. In reality, you can do that, but you are also allowed to depart from any other mainland Chinese airport or you can even cross to Macau and Hong Kong overland and take a flight from there.
