About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

cruising Tokyo to Hong Kong

We arrive in Tokyo 5/7. Board the Cruise ship 5/9. 5/11 port Japan. 5/12 port Japan. 5/13 port Japan. 5/15 port Japan. 5/17 arrive Beijing 0900 and leave 5/18 1900. 5/20 arrive Shanghai 0800 and leave 5/21 1700. 5/23 port Hong Kong 1400. disembark ship 5/24 0800. Fly home 5/26/20. So, with all of that outlined, do we need Visas or does it fit into one of the Visa Free entries?

Unfortunately, you are not eligible for any kind of visa free transit or visa exemption scheme. As you can see, you will have two Chinese stops in a row (Beijing and Shanghai) and this is a detail that disqualifies you for any visa free option. If only your cruise has an itinerary to visit Shanghai first, it would be eligible for 15 day visa free policy. Assuming that you are US citizens, at least you are eligible for 10 year, multiple entry Chinese visa that you will obtain before your planned cruise.
