About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24 hr transit visa in Shanghai

I am travelling from USA to Thailand and have a 19 hr layover on the way back. I hold a Pakistani passport with a US visa. Would I be allowed a transit visa in Shanghai? I am travelling with my husband who is American passport holder, would he be allowed a transit visa?

A “transit visa” is something you apply for and pay for in advance via an embassy or consulate. You can both transit without a visa, but it’s possible that you may have to stay in the airport for your connection if you are denied a temporary entry permit.
