About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Guatemalan citizen and UK resident visiting Shanghai with a stay and cruise (72 hr stay)

Hi, If I am a UK resident, can I apply for a 72 hr exception? As a Guatemalan citizen, I am not on the list. thank you

Unfortunately, Guatemalan citizens are limited to just 24 hour visa free transit and they cannot use 72/144 hour visa free transit.

So, if you can, you are advised to adapt your itinerary to fit in 24 hour frame, but if this is not possible and you want to stay for some time in Shanghai to explore, you will have to obtain a Chinese tourist (L) visa in advance. Please, keep in mind that if you return by a cruise to Shanghai that your situation will be the same. You will have to fit your itinerary within 24 hour visa free transit or obtain a Chinese tourist (L) double entry visa.
