cruising from Shanghai to Japan, Taiwan, hongkong

We are from Australia, We will fly from Sydney, transit in Hongkong for 2 hours then get to Shanghai on 29th Feb 2020. We will embark Holland America cruise ship on 29 Feb in Shanghai. We will then sail out of Shanghai at 6pm 1st March 2020, cruise ship will then go to japan, Taiwan , Manila and back to Hong kong, we then fly back from HongKong to Sydney on 14th March 2020
Do I need to apply for visa or I am eligible for 144 hour visa free transit?
