About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 hr Visa free transit validity from Myanmar

I have a UK passport and reside in the UK , but am travelling from Myanmar to Chengdu then Thailand - will I be eligible for a 144 visa free transit ? My flight arrives at 0530 on 9 th and departs at 23.35 hrs on 15th ....will I qualify?

If your entire transit time in Chengdu area is longer than 24 hours, you are eligible for 144 hour visa free transit. Also, if you arrive at the date and time you have mentioned, 144 hour TWOV begins on the day after the day of your arrival. So, in your case the countdown will start on 10 January at 00:00 (12:00am). In other words, you can stay in Chengdu until 15 January until 23:59 (11:59pm).

Also, you are perfectly fine with just 2 hour layover in Bangkok. It would be enough just a minute if that would be only possible in air transport.

To conclude, you are perfectly fine for this visa free transit option.
