About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Beijing Layover

I will arrive in Shanghai on Sunday April 5th at 12:00 with ANA and will be departing with Etihad on Tuesday April 7th at 01:30 (36ish hours).

Since these tickets are not connected and were purchased separately am I in trouble? Or will I be able to apply for the 72 hour visa upon arrival?

Matt, as long as your route qualifies, you can enjoy the 144h visa-free transit in Beijing, even if you hold separate flight tickets.
