About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flying UK to Japan via Shanghai

Hi, flying to Japan from London Heathrow via Shanghai? Do I require any type of Visa? Its a direct transit

Aaron, if you are UK citizen or a citizen from 53 eligible countries, you can enjoy 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai area, of course if you don't have any additional landings within mainland China. If your citizenship is from other countries different than the mentioned 53 countries, you can be eligible for 24 hour visa free transit if your entire transit time is less than 24 hours long. Now, you have to take a look into your itinerary and your citizenship to see your qualifications.

Thanks for the reply ZUPAN, yes I am a UK Citizen and will be in the airport for 2/3 hours max.
