About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Layover of 6 hours

Hi, I am travelling from Dubai to Manila with a layover of almost 6 hours. Do I need to buy a transit visa even I will NOT go out of airport? Thanks

be mindful that last time I was in GuangZhou for 5hours and trying to apply for this 72hr transit visa, however was told that the transit needs to be over 6hours to be eligible

William, it is not a “transit visa” which is something completely different. “Transit without visa” and “temporary entry permit” are two separate things. Last time you were denied the entry permit, not the transit without visa. This is very common on short connections, and there are multiple posts here about that. For a 5 or 6 hour connection you are only eligible for 24 hours TWOV, never 72.
