seoul --- beijing --- kazakhstan

Question

I'm a US citizen. I will be flying from Seoul to Beijing on China Southern on Jan 8. Then fly from Beijing to Kazakhstan on Jan 14 on Air Astana. Am I eligible for the 144 hour visa?If so, how do I apply for it? Do I just tell the airline when I check in at the airport I want the 144 hour transit visa?Is it ok I will be on China Southern coming into China and then flying out on Air Astana?

It's not a visa also you can't apply for it.At the check-in just let the airline know that you wanna get use of the 144h twov in Beijing.When you arrive in Beijing, just follow the signs for 144h twov.Print out your e-ticket to Kazakhstan and your hotel reservation.The immigration will give you a temporary permit for 144 hours,
