Well, this is something totally different :)
Yes, you are definitely allowed to cross to Shenzhen from Hong Kong through three eligible border crossings (Lo Wu / Luohu, Huanggang and Shekou) where you will obtain a Shenzhen VOA at the price of 168 CNY for Austrian citizens and as soon as you have obtained a visa, you can proceed to the airport and take a flight to Myanmar. Please, have in mind that your flight out of Shenzhen has to be a direct flight, without any additional landing in mainland China of any kind.
If you intend to return to Hong Kong via Shenzhen, then you can rely on 144 hour visa free transit. In other words, you will have to book a ferry ticket from Shenzhen to Hong Kong, but the difference between your scheduled arrival by plane and your scheduled departure by ferry from Shenzhen Shekou has to be at least 25 hours to be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit. To book your ferry ticket, you will visit CKS - Chu Kong Passenger transport website where you will make a booking. After your booking is done, you will receive an e-confirmation that you will print out and take that printout with you as a proof of your transit intention. Please, have in mind that you will have to take exactly that ferry you have bough your tickets for.
To conclude, to travel to some other country from Shenzhen, you will just cross the border by obtaining a Shenzhen VOA and if returning via Shenzhen back to Hong Kong, you will rely on 144 hour visa free transit as described in the text.
