About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

USA-Japan-Shanghai-USA

If I am leaving the US, spending 4 days in Japan, then flying to Shanghai for 2 days, then back to the US, I have A=Japan, B=China (Shanghai) and C=USA. Does this qualify visa free transit?

Just make sure you don't transit a Japanese airport on the way home and you will qualify
