About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Australian passport - 144 hr visas

Hi I am flying from Perth to Shanghai via Hong Kong on CX. I will then go on a cruise from Shanghai to Japan and return to Shanghai. Then fly Shanghai to Perth via Hong Kong on CX again. Do I qualify for 144 hr visas on both stays in Shanghai? Thank you.

Yes, your both stops in Shanghai are definitely eligible for 24 or 144 hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa. Whether you will be eligible for 24 or 144 hour visa free transit is in direct relation to the length of your stay in Shanghai. If your stay is less than 24 hours, then you are eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and if your stay is just a minute longer than 24 hours, you will be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit. In any case, you will travel absolutely visa free.
