About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Flight within Guangdong Province

Hey everyone!
Is it possible to take a flight to another city within Guangdong Province, when applying for a 144 hours Transit Visa at Guangdong airport, when coming from (direct-way) Europe and leaving at Guangdong airport to another country?

What about landing in Guangzhou, getting the transit Visa there; flying to Zhenjiang same day, and then flying back to Vietnam (for instance) from Guangzhou another day?

Yes, this is perfectly allowed. You can combine three airports within Guangdong province:

- Shenzhen
- Guangzhou
- Jieyang Chaoshan

For example, you can arrive to Shenzhen airport from Frankfurt and after 144 hours depart from Guangzhou to Hanoi in Vietnam. Of course, both of the mentioned flights are not allowed to have any additional landing of any kind within mainland China. Basically, this is the only condition.

You are perfectly allowed to do that because Zhanjiang is within Guangdong province and you can travel within the province as you wish... By plane, by train, by bus, by boat... There are no limits of any kind. Also, you don't need to return back to Guangzhou during the same day. You are perfectly allowed to stay there for 5 days if you wish.

By the way, Oliver, this is not "transit visa". This is 144 hour visa free transit or in other words a transit without a visa. You will just get a temporary entry permit in form of a sticker in your passport where it will be written for how long you can stay within Guangdong province.

Also, a high speed trains are also quite fine way to travel between Guangzhou and Zhanjiang because they take just about 3 hours and are by far cheaper than plane.
