About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

From Hong Kong to Guangdong to Hong Kong

Hi,

Does the exit have to be to a THIRD country. My daughter is Canadian; can we use the transit exemption to travel from Hong Kong to Guangdong (through Shekhou) and back to Hong Kong for 72 hours?

Sorry, it has to be country or region A - Mainland China - country or region B. HK and Macau can be considered as the third country / region A or B. So you can go like this HK - Guangdong - Macau - HK. And the 72h visa-free transit has been upgraded to 240h.
