Cruise between Hong Kong and Shanghai

We are catching a cruise in Hong Kong on Feb. 1, 2020. We arrive in Hong Kong on Jan 29, 2020 flight from Seoul Korea. After Hong Kong we visit the Philippines, Japan and South Korea with last port being in Sasebo, Japan. We disembark in Shanghai on Feb. 15, 2020 and depart from Shanghai Pudong on Feb. 18, 2020 flight to Atlanta, GA USA. Do we qualify for visa exemption?

This is Holland America 14-day Taiwan & Japan cruise route. Under the condition that your flight from Shanghai to Atlanta doesn't have any additional landings (stops) of any kind within mainland China and Japan, you are perfectly eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai area and you don't need any kind of visa.
