Are we eligible for the visa exemption for 144 hours?

We are going on a cruise with embarkation in Singapore and disembarkation in Shanghai. We will arrive at Shanghai Cruiseport at Feb. 15, 2020, stay at a hotel in Shanghai for 4 nights and then fly back home to London. Our last port before Shanghai is Sasebo in Japan. Are we eligible for the 144 hour visa free transit?
