Hi,

Is it possible to fly from (A) Hong Kong into (B) Guangzhou then catch a train to (C) Macau to take advantage of the 144hr transit visa?

Thanks in advance!

Actually, this itinerary is eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in the entire Guangdong province, but with just one correction.

You cannot take a train to Macau because, at least at the time being, there is no a single meter of railway tracks in Macau. The nearest station is in Zhuhai, just about 200 meters away from the border crossing, but this is not eligible.

You will have to take a train or a bus from Guangzhou to Shenzhen and after that a ferry (in reality a catamaran) from Shenzhen Shekou port to Macau. So, if you decide for this option, you will book your ferry ticket through TurboJet ferry website and they will send you an e-confirmation. You will print out the e-confirmation and bring it with you. It will serve you as a proof that you will be really in transit. Also, keep in mind that you will really have to take exactly that ferry you have bought your ticket for.
