About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is Hong Kong valid as the 3rd country or territory

As a French citizen, if I fly from Paris to Shanghai then Shanghai to Hong Kong (without stopovers), can I benefit from the 72h visa free stay in Shanghai?
