About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Will I qualify for a free 24hr transit visa for Philippine passport?

I am going back to the Philippines from USA and has a 17hr layover in Shanghai. I hold a Philippine passport. Can I apply for a free 24hr transit visa?

Your itinerary is eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa. Anyway, if you wish to exit the airport, you will apply for a temporary entry permit at 24 hour visa free transit counter upon your arrival in Shanghai. To increase your chances to be issued a permit, you are advised to book a hotel in advance and to have a confirmation about it with you. In any case, you have to know that the issuing of a temporary entry permit depends entirely on immigration authorities on a day of your arrival in Shanghai. By the way, you should print out your flight tickets and have those printouts with you.
