About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Arrive Shanghai by flight and leave by sea

We wish to arrive in Shanghai by flight from Australia , we have Australian passports, and we wish to leave China by ferry to Osaka, Japan.Would we qualify for a 72 or 144 hour visa

Your itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit since 72 hour visa free transit in Shanghai has been replaced by 144 hour visa free transit a couple of years ago. Of course, you should have in mind that your flight to Shanghai is not allowed to have any additional landing within mainland China and in Japan. Please, keep in mind that you will have to book your ferry ticket before your departure from Australia and have it with you in hard copy.
