About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

we leave macao for Zhangjiajie National Park but are only there 3 days . . .

We arrive Hong Kong March 18, heading for Macao until the 23rd then want to go to Zhangjiajie National Park March 24-28 before heading back to Macao. Would we be good for the visa-free transit? I found high speed rail with train changes in Guangzhoui that give us about 20 min to transfer. Thinking trains run on time and that's enough time . . . ? Thanks!

Unfortunately, your itinerary is not eligible for 240 hour visa free transit. If you exit from Macau toward mainland China you cannot return to Macau. That is a round (return) trip and not a transit. So, if you exit from Macau you have to return to some other eligible territory and in your case an ideal option would be Hong Kong. So an itinerary:

Macau - mainland China - Hong Kong

Is eligible for 240 hour visa free transit and in this option you do not need any kind of visa. Please, have in mind that you cannot use a train from Macau to mainland China because there is no a train connection between the two. You can exit Macau toward mainland China on foot via Hengqin border crossing and then proceed by train toward Zhangjiajie without any problem. It is essential to understand that you will have to buy your exit ticket (flight or train) toward Hong Kong before you depart from Macau toward mainland China. I hope this helps.

No, because the country you arrive from (Macau) is the same as the one you depart to (Macau).
